A native New Yorker, Nick Spadafora is currently living in Chelsea, New York City.
Early solo exhibitions, in huge dance lofts popular in Chelsea and Tribeca, heightened his desire to work "Large" and further experiment in oil and mixed medium. His recurring themes focus on Nature, Portraiture, Animals, and color abstracts.
In his collection "A Summer's Garden", the body of which is a study of plantlife, the artist attempts to capture the vibrancy of their color. In a style reminiscent of Asian brush work, combining oil, pastel and pencil for most pieces, a summer atmosphere prevails throughout. Using minimal line and pastel shape forms, he brings the importance of Nature indoors.
